Mariners promote Justin Hollander to general manager - NBC Sports

Since the Seattle Mariners tore it all down and rebuilt from the ground up after 2018 season, the main obstacle to winning has been the ability to score runs. The two offensive metrics I use to account for a team’s ability to generate offense are pure old runs scored, and weighted runs created plus, or wRC+.

Runs scored is easy to understand. Why wRC+? Becaue not every ballpark is equal. The Mariners play in the most suppressive ballpark in Major League Baseball. It would be incorrect to dwell on simple runs scored since they play half their games in this environment, and are the only club that comes close such an experience.
