Below is the first Mariners Trade Index of 2025. The players are chosen by Mariners team needs, playoff race status, salary commitments, control years, trade match, and how likely (or unlikely) the player’s club may be to entertaining a trade, based on common sense and rationale.

The first few editions are unranked and will include a lot of players that will, of course, not ultimately be traded this summer. The list will initially grow in May and early June, then likely narrow as as the deadline nears.

Yes, sometimes the best players are added later as situations develop. The list below is NOT complete, it’s a start.
